OWHN, an area resource since 1998, is offering an exciting opportunity to a women's health-related organization: manage the lecture series and lead all work of the OWHN, which serves several hundred members. The mission of OWHN is to provide a coalition open to all who share the goal of achieving optimum health and healing for women in Oregon through advocacy, education and networking.
The Request for Proposal provides background information and how to apply. Applications are due July 27th.

Breath by Breath

Breath by Breath

The Center for Women's Health and the Department of General Internal Medicine are excited to offer Breath by Breath, a mindfulness-based stress reduction drop-in class. 

Participants are led by a trained instructor in learning to control stress naturally and begin a self-guided meditation practice.

All sessions are held in conference room 13000A, on the 13th floor of Kohler Pavilion. There is no cost to attend.

Every second and fourth Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Every first and third Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Free nutrition class with cooking demonstration for women affected by cancer

Eating well is not meant to be intimidating or challenging. In this FREE nutrition class, you will learn lifestyle changes you can make to improve your health and wellness. Each class will feature a new recipe and cooking techniques that you can bring home and share with your family. Expert guidance will help to grow healthy eating behaviors and the skills you need to feel comfortable in the kitchen. 

Bring your questions, an open mind, an apron (if you would like), and a willingness to learn!

Making Sense of Menopause Conference

For many women, menopause comes with physical and emotional change--and lots of questions. The goal of the Making Sense of Menopause conference was to help women understand what happens to their bodies during menopause and to provide the knowledge and resources to help each woman go through the transition in the best way for her as an individual. Global collaboration in Ethiopia

Ethiopia Collaboration
An OHSU team recently returned completed 49 surgical procedures for pelvic organ prolapse in addition to providing educational efforts in family planning and midwifery. This was the first trip in our collaborative relationship with Gimbie Adventist Hospital.
