Making a Bequest

Growing Guild Membership Demonstrates the Power of Bequests

Sam Jackson and Frank Doernbecher were two of the founding donors whose vision and contributions helped establish OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Since then, countless individuals have made similar designations. All those gifts have combined to help grow OHSU and Doernbecher into the life changing, life-saving institutions they are today.

In order to build on these trendsetting gifts, and to help ensure the continuing growth and impact of the institutions they support, the OHSU and Doernbecher Foundations have established a goal of identifying 500 new members to the Guilds over the next five years.  Each of these newmembers gives OHSU the confidence to move forward and provides the necessary resources to break new ground in medical research and for world-class healthcare to all who come seeking treatment.

We invite you to join this effort by including OHSU or Doernbecher in your estate plans.  Estate gifts of any size can make a meaningful impact on one or more of OHSU’s areas of excellence.  When combined with others, these gifts can help reach even greater goals, and build momentum for OHSU’s future successes.  From a personal planning perspective, bequests are an excellent, flexible tool.  They do not take away from current assets, can be made in concert with providing for family needs, may reduce estate taxes, and can be modified at any time.

Gifts by will or revocable living trust may be for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your total estate or a residual amount remaining after all specific bequests and expenses have been paid.  And there are other deferred giving options you may want to consider that can benefit both you and OHSU.  Please contact us to learn more.
